Erik ten Hag could make ‘brilliant’ 22-year-old first Man United signing – expert
Paul Robinson is unsurprised to hear Erik ten Hag wants to take Antony with him if he becomes the next Man United manager.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League goalkeeper hailed the “brilliant” Antony, 22, after watching “a lot of him” while working on the Eredivisie this season.
According to Sky Sports‘ Melissa Reddy (30 March), United have been sounding out how much compensation they would need to pay to get Ten Hag out of Ajax.

It comes after the 52-year-old was interviewed last week with a view to taking over permanently in the summer.
The Telegraph‘s James Ducker claimed (28 March) Ten Hag would be keen on bringing Antony with him if he were to leave Ajax.
When asked for his insight on the Brazilian winger, Robinson told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “Antony is brilliant.
“I have covered the Eredivisie this season for a broadcaster so I have watched a lot of him. He plays behind [Sebastien] Haller and comes in off the right-hand side. He’s got a bucketload of goals this season even though he plays deep.
“I’m not surprised Ten Hag wants to bring him with him. But I question whether Ten Hag will go to Manchester United.
“Do United think he is the right fit? You question the characters he has worked with. One of the big problems at United is the characters and egos in that dressing room. He doesn’t really have that at Ajax.
“There’s no question that he can build a squad and is tactically astute. But can he handle those big names?”
