Erik ten Hag has ‘something up his sleeve’ as Man United footage analysed – pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed Man United will be able to cope with Casemiro’s absence for their upcoming games.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender claimed Erik ten Hag will have “something up his sleeve” after the Brazilian was sent off in the 0-0 draw with Southampton on Sunday (12 March).
As shown on Sky Sports (13 March), the 31-year-old was shown a straight red card from referee Anthony Taylor for a late challenge on Carlos Alcaraz and the decision was upheld by VAR official Andre Marriner.
The midfielder faces a four game ban after the Red Devils decided against appealing the decision.
He will miss their FA Cup quarter-final match against Burnley on Saturday (18 March) as they hunt for more silverware this season.
Hutton insisted Ten Hag’s side will be able to cope without their staple midfielder.
“It is not ideal but I think they have got strength and depth there,” he told Football Insider.
“I think he has made them a far better team this season, he is like the glue that sticks everything together.

“But the likes of Fred, he has done well enough, [Scott] McTominay is also there. [Bruno] Fernandes can sit in that position as well if it is needed.
“It is not ideal but they will just have to get used to it because he is not going to change his style of play. That is just the way he is. I think Ten Hag will have something up his sleeve.“
