Erik ten Hag slammed by pundit after what he’s heard at Man United – ‘it’s weak’
Paul Robinson has slammed new Man United manager Erik ten Hag for his “underwhelming” first press conference at the club.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one claimed the 52-year-old “needed to make a statement” and failed to do so.
Ten Hag was in attendance at Selhurst Park on Sunday to watch his new team lose 1-0 to Crystal Palace.
As quoted by Sky Sports (23 May), Erik ten Hag said the current situation is “not good” and described his job as “a big challenge.”
The Dutch manager also took the time to introduce himself to every journalist at the press conference on Monday.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of what he heard from Ten Hag, Robinson said: “I was completely underwhelmed by his press conference the other day.
“When you come into a club like Manchester United you need to make a statement. You want to be bold. You need to be brave.
“I know he has only just come into the country but the press conference was weak. I was completely underwhelmed by what he had to say. It wasn’t very inspiring.”

Ten Hag has put pen to paper on a contract until the end of June 2025 at Old Trafford.
He won two Eredivisie titles and two Dutch Cups at his previous club Ajax.
In other news, a pundit has claimed Erik ten Hag is ‘working quickly’ to complete a ‘massive’ Man United signing after an £80million update.
