Erik ten Hag told to ‘sort out’ immediate problem at Man United after £200m reveal – pundit

Man United need immediate recruitment advice from Erik ten Hag, according to Kevin Campbell.

The ex-Premier League striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said “a turnover of players” is inevitable at Old Trafford with so many out of contract this summer.

On Thursday (21 April), Man United announced Erik ten Hag as their new manager on a contract until June 2025.

The 52-year-old will take over in the summer after he completes this season with his current club Ajax.

As quoted by Sky Sports (19 April), United interim boss Ralf Rangnick said as many as 10 new signings are needed after Tuesday’s 4-0 loss to Liverpool.

The Mirror claimed (20 April) Ten Hag will be given £200million to revamp his squad in the next window.

When asked by Football Insiderfor his assessment of United’s transfer needs, Campbell said:

“The thing is, there is going to be a turnover of players solely because contracts are up.

‘That is why the new manager coming in is key. Ten Hag needs to have a big say on who they get. Now that they know he is coming in, they can start planning.

“There is no doubt about it, they have quality players. Manchester United have a quality squad but it is disjointed.

“They need Ten Hag to sort it all out. Ralf Rangnick has come in and tried do do his best, bless him. But the players have not responded to him.”
