Erling Haaland cited as Liverpool plot move for teenage sensation – pundit

Paul Robinson has claimed Youssoufa Moukoko should turn down a move to Liverpool or Man City in favour of staying at Borussia Dortmund.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the Bundesliga is a better place for the 18-year-old to develop.

Moukouko‘s contract with Borussia Dortmund expires at the end of next June.

Sources told Football Insider on 17 December that Liverpool and Man City are interested in signing the teenage star.

Chelsea are also reportedly interested in the Germany international.

Robinson pointed to Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland when explaining why Moukouko should remain in Germany.

“Look at Bellingham and look at Haaland,” he told Football Insider.

“Why would you want to leave Borussia Dortmund as a teenager? There’s not many better clubs to be at when you’re that age. It is a great nursery for talent. They develop young players.

“If you come to the Premier League to a club like Liverpool or Man City you are probably going to spend most of your time on the bench.

“I think it would be better for him to stay there. Play week in, week out and then move to the Premier League in a couple of years. That would be the best path to take.

“He is a brilliant young player but I doubt he would be more than a squad player at one of the top Premier League sides.”
