Erol Bulut has ‘lost the dressing room’ at Cardiff City – sources

Cardiff City players believe it is ‘curtains’ for manager Erol Bulut after a poor start to the season, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that it will be hard for the 49-year-old to turn things around at the club after players ‘made up their minds’ about the manager.

Football Insider revealed (September 17) that the club are ready to sack Bulut after their worst start to a season in 35 years.

The club are currently rooted to the bottom of the Championship table after losing four and drawing one of their opening five games.

Erol Bulut faces uphill battle after losing Cardiff City dressing room

Bulut took charge of Cardiff City, his first job in English football, in June 2020 following an 18 month spell with Super Lig side Gaziantep FK.

The Turkish manager has seen his side score just one goal so far this season, a 79th-minute equaliser from Callum Robinson in their 1-1 draw with rivals Swansea City.

If sacked, the Turkish manager would be the third to get the boot so far this season, with Ryan Lowe and Steven Schumacher being sacked by Preston North End and Stoke City respectively.

It’s not going to get any easier for the Welsh outfit as they face promotion hopefuls Leeds United at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday (September 21).

In other news, Bristol City manager Liam Manning could be sacked next.
