AS Monaco are poised to splash the cash and offer Arsenal £45million for talisman Alexis Sanchez this summer, according to a report.

The Sun claims that the Ligue 1 champions are determined to make a marquee signing ahead of the new season and they are willing to offer the 28-year-old a tax free weekly wage of £300,000.

The French champions will be able to table such a huge bid as they have reportedly received around £150million after selling Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy and Tiemoue Bakayoko to Premier League teams.

The newspaper claims that the French outfit are looking to exploit Arsenal’s interest in the club’s attacking midfielder Thomas Lemar in their pursuit of Sanchez this summer.

The report claims that Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim believes that the Chilean can provide his side with more quality and much needed experience next season and he is confident that the Monte Carlo lifestyle can attract the striker to France.

Monaco will face stiff competition in landing the forward this summer as the Sun reported that fellow league rivals Paris Saint-Germain are also interested alongside Premier League side Manchester City.

However, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is adamant that Sanchez stay with the Gunners for the upcoming campaign after the forward returned to training earlier this week.

The Chilean’s current contract at the Emirates Stadium expires next summer.

Football Insider verdict

The player’s silence on the issue of his future must surely be a concern for the Arsenal supporters. It appears that a new club are being linked with Sanchez every week and it would certainly put the fans’ minds at ease should the player himself confirm what he plans to do next season. The Gunners might not have to worry about potential interest from PSG following their sensational world record deal to sign Neymar but Monaco can still offer Sanchez with Champions League football next season. Despite securing the French league title last season, Monaco have sold a number of their key players this summer and Sanchez might feel that he has a better chance to succeed at the Emirates Stadium in the upcoming campaign.

In other Arsenal news, the Gunners have confirmed that this South American player has left the Emirates to join a La Liga side.
