Everton backed to agree four late signings after green light – Keith Wyness
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted there will be room to back David Moyes with “three or four” new signings before this transfer window shuts.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 67-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed the Toffees are likely to get the green light to do business with around “£10-15million” in freed-up funds.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (28 January) that Moyes wants reinforcements at left-back, in central midfield and at centre-forward before the window shuts on 3 February.
Everton are yet to make a January signing after The Friedkin Group finalised their takeover last month.
Moyes’ side sit 16th in the Premier League table and are seven points clear of the drop zone after back-to-back wins against Tottenham and Brighton.
Everton have room for new signings before 3 February deadline, says Wyness
Wyness claimed a stadium naming rights deal or the sale of first-team stars will only free up more funds for Moyes and his transfer team.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “Everton will have some headroom in this window.
“There are also things like naming rights, which they could be getting paid for as soon as possible.
“If that contract starts before the stadium opens in the summer, that could bring some extra cash.
“There are a couple of rumoured sales. Antonee Robinson, Everton have a sell-on which could produce around £2.5million.
“Beto could potentially go, but I’m doubtful about that giving any major headroom.

“I think they’ll find a way to get around £10-15milllion in headroom. Depending on the way that’s spent, it could be a way to bring in the three or four players Moyes wants.
“You’re seeing these long contracts at other clubs, and that’s a way to make the money go as far as possible. I don’t think the Friedkins will go down that route, it’s inherently risky.”
