Everton could sign Premier League star to replace Dele Alli after transfer report – pundit
Frank McAvennie has suggested Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour could replace Dele Alli at Everton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said the signing of Alli “backfired” on the Toffees.
According to The Sun (24 July), Everton are prepared to sell the 26-year-old this summer – just six months after signing him from Tottenham on a free transfer.

Everton are said to want to cut their losses on the midfielder before he makes 20 appearances for the Merseyside club, at which point they will have to pay Spurs £10million.
The Englishman’s contract at Goodison Park runs until the end of June 2024.
When asked if he thought Everton should be looking to sell Alli, McAvennie told Football Insider: “They’ve got Dele Alli there who’s not kicked a ball for them.
“That’s one that’s backfired on Frank Lampard. I don’t think his heart is in it anymore.
“I look at things about singings that Frank has made and Dele Alli is a wonderful talent, wonderful player, and I thought what a management for him to go and play and express himself but he doesn’t seem to be interested.

“I’m disappointed because I like him as a player.
“That’s maybe why he’s thinking about bringing Billy Gilmour in because he needs that flair. Everton need someone of that stature, with that flair. Everton fans need someone that they can get behind. I thought it was going to be Dele Alli but no.“
In other news, a pundit has suggested Everton may now accept Dominic Calvert-Lewin offer to fund ‘vital’ moves.
