Everton expert reveals the truth about Thierno Barry replacement whispers
Thierno Barry has had a difficult start to life at Everton and there are now rumours that he could be replaced in January.
Barry came in from Villarreal for around £27million but has failed to score a single goal for David Moyes’ side so far this season.
Beto has also underperformed for Everton, meaning the Merseyside club could make a move for a new striker in January.
The Toffees sit 13th in the Premier League currently and have only won two of their last nine games across all competitions.

Everton linked with exciting striker
Everton have been linked with Midtjylland striker Franculino Dju in recent weeks, after his impressive performances so far this season.
However, Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – doesn’t believe there is much substance to the rumours.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Moyes is looking for an experienced forward who can come in alongside Barry.
Wyness added that Dju is probably too young right now in terms of what Everton need.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Midtjylland have been a club that people have had their eye on for a few seasons now. They’ve done very well. It’s probably been about five or six years. They’ve been at the forefront of new advances.
“But in terms of Dju, he’s 21. He’s just too young to be considered for what Moyes is looking for. I think they’ve already got the young up-and-comer with Thierno Barry, who played very well at the weekend (vs Fulham). So I think they’ve got that sort of role filled.
“I think it would be an experienced forward to come in, I think that’s the sort of route that Moyes is going to go down. So I don’t really see much in this particular link.”
Everton face battle to keep midfield star
Meanwhile, Newcastle United are keeping tabs on Everton midfielder James Garner ahead of the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The 24-year-old’s outstanding performances this season have seen Moyes back him for a call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.
Newcastle scouts have been making regular checks on Garner, whose contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium expires next summer.
Everton are keen to keep hold of the former Manchester United youngster though and are expected to offer him a new deal.
