Everton fans rage as Arsenal controversy re-analysed from new angle – ‘Corrupt’

Everton fans have raged after re-analysing the footage of Arsenal’s second goal from a new angle in their defeat on Sunday (19 May).

Michael Oliver was sent to the monitor by VAR to judge whether Gabriel Jesus had handled the ball in the build-up to Kai Havertz’s 89th-minute winning goal.

The referee deemed the ball didn’t strike the Brazilian international’s arm below the sleeve line as the goal was allowed to count.

That secured Arsenal a 2-1 victory after coming from behind following Idrissa Gueye’s opener, with Takehiro Tomiyasu grabbing the equaliser before Havertz’s late winner.

The three points didn’t prove enough to earn the Gunners the Premier League title, however, after Manchester City were crowned champions following their 3-1 win over West Ham.

Everton fans cannot believe Jesus handball allowed to stand

Everton fans have raged at referee Oliver for not awarding a handball against Jesus, with one supporter accusing the Premier League of being “corrupt”.
