Everton fans rage at Premier League as ‘disgraceful’ VAR footage emerges

Everton fans have been left raging at the Premier League after VAR controversy in their defeat to Brighton at Goodison Park.

Sean Dyche’s side were picked apart by Brighton on the opening day as they fell to a 3-0 defeat at home after goals from Kaoru Mitoma, Danny Welbeck and Simon Adingra.

Controversy emerged when Everton were denied a penalty in the first half by VAR after Dominic Calvert-Lewin tumbled in the box under pressure from Lewis Dunk.

In footage filmed by a supporter at Goodison Park which went viral on social media, the VAR monitor appeared to remain blank while the referee assessed his decision.

Of course, the VAR official Darren England was talking Simon Hooper through the call – but the apparent lack of replay for the referee has raised questions among fans.
