Everton hold talks over lightning quick attacker, Koeman a long-time admirer – report

By Danny Wright

Everton have held discussions over the possibility of signing Hull attacker Kamil Grosicki, according to a report.

Polish news outlet Przeglad Sportowy claims on their website that Ronald Koeman is a long-time admirer of the lightning quick Tiger, who is said to be unsettled at the KCOM Stadium.

It is understood that Grosicki, 29, is eager on securing a switch back to the Premier League following Hull’s relegation last season.

The report adds that the 50-times Poland international is so keen to play in the English top-flight that he has turned down the chance to join Bundesliga outfit Freiburg.

He only joined the Humberside club from Stade Rennes in January and impressed supporters with his electric displays on the attacking wing areas of the pitch.

In 15 league appearances for the Tigers last term, Grosicki failed to score but managed to supply five assists and pick up the Premier League play of the month award for April.

Everton have been very busy in the transfer window so far with Koeman making a number of additions to his squad.

However Przeglad Sportowky reports that he would like to bring in another striker and defensive midfielder before pursuing Grosicki any further.

Football Insider Verdict

Grosicki would be a good addition to the Everton squad and would provide a good back-up to Yannick Bolasie once he is fit. Koeman also has Ademola Lookman and Kevin Mirallas to keep happy in his squad, so the Belgian could find himself on the fringes if the Poland international was snapped up. His willingness to leave Hull is a plus for the Toffees as it could bring down his asking price and wage demands. It’s a bit risky to turn down Freiburg, because a shot in the Bundesliga is definitely better than staying the Championship with a Hull side that simply do not look able to earn promotion next season.

In other Everton news, this European wonderkid has been spotted playing for the Toffees youth team despite interest from Arsenal and Mancheser United.
