Everton make approach to beat Nottingham Forest in race to seal new forward arrival

Everton and Nottingham Forest are in a battle to win the race for Youssef En-Nesyri this January.

The 28-year-old striker currently plays for Fenerbahce in Turkey, where he has continued to find the net with ease.

Everton have been on the hunt for a new striker for some time, with Beto and Thierno Barry terribly out of form at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Therefore, David Moyes has set his sights on En-Nesyri. However, with Nottingham Forest also interested, the Toffees are set for a fight for his signature.

Everton and Nottingham Forest make enquiries for Youssef En-Nesyri

According to the Daily Mail print edition on 15 January, both Everton and Nottingham Forest have enquired about signing En-Nesyri on loan.

The striker is currently unsure about the move, with the Morocco international also receiving offers from Saudi Arabia.

Forest are also working on a deal for Mehdi Taremi, and it remains to be seen if their affects their pursuit of the Fenerbahce forward.

Currently, En-Nesyri is away on AFCON duty, and the striker scored the winning penalty in Morocco’s shootout victory against Nigeria in the semi-finals on Wednesday.

Previously, En-Nesyri had played for Sevilla, where he scored 73 goals in 196 appearances and won two Europa League titles.

This form saw multiple Premier League sides pursue En-Nesyri, including West Ham, before he made his move to Fenerbahce.

How good is En-Nesyri?

Despite now playing in Turkey, En-Nesyri has remained a clinical striker.

Since joining the club in July 2024, he has netted 38 times in 77 appearances and has picked up eight assists.

According to Fotmob on 15 January, his attacking stats in the Super Lig are immense this season.

Currently, he is averaging 0.66 goals, 3.42 shots and a 0.80 xG every match, a fabulous feat for the attacker.
