Everton news: Dan Friedkin making Kevin Thelwell sack decision
Everton’s incoming owner Dan Friedkin will look to resolve the futures of Kevin Thelwell and Sean Dyche once his takeover is completed, sources have told Football Insider.
Dyche’s future is currently up in the air following Everton’s poor start to the season, while his contract also expires at the end of this campaign.
Thelwell’s deal also expires at the same time, with Friedkin and his management team needing to determine the club’s plans for their director of football.
Thelwell has had to operate under tight financial restrictions since taking the helm in February 2022.
He has worked closely alongside Dyche throughout his time in charge and has been open about how they’ve been working together to try and resolve Everton’s early-season struggles while operating with a relatively small budget.
Everton could undergo major change under Dan Friedkin
The Friedkin Group have moved closer to completing their takeover and are at the advanced stages of the deal with Farhad Moshiri.
Friedkin will immediately need to make major decisions about the club’s future due to them sitting 19th in the Premier League table after the first five games.
The Merseyside club are winless in the league and have been knocked out of the EFL Cup in a dismal start to the new campaign.

Only Wolves can match the 14 goals Everton have conceded so far, with Dyche’s team having just one point out of an available 15.
Everton will be back in action on Saturday (28 September) when they face Crystal Palace.
