Everton news: Pundit issues ‘worrying’ Dominic Calvert-Lewin verdict after new development
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is “a worry” for Everton manager Frank Lampard, according to Paul Robinson.
The former Tottenham and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 24-year-old has not been involved in games “anywhere near as much” as Lampard would have liked.
Calvert-Lewin was missing from Everton’s Premier League clash with Wolves on Sunday.
According to Football Insider‘s injury expert Ben Dinnery (13 March), the centre-forward was absent due to illness.
The Toffees have struggled in the absence of Calvert-Lewin this season, with the striker only recently returning from a fractured toe.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Calvert-Lewin’s form since returning, Robinson said: “It’s a worry.
“The problem against Spurs was that they couldn’t get him into the game. They couldn’t get the ball to him in areas where he could effect the game.
“Everton need him to rediscover his best as soon as possible really. Chances have been few and far between for him though. He is playing in a team that is out of form and lacking confidence though, so it is to be expected.
“They need to look at the way they played against Leeds and Brentford. There is goals in the team. He’s not been involved anywhere near as much as Lampard would have liked.”

Calvert-Lewin has scored three goals in nine Premier League appearances this season.
Everton welcome Newcastle United to Goodison Park on Thursday.
