Everton news: Pundit ‘scared’ after ‘frightening’ Jamie Carragher claim
Alan Hutton has questioned the mentality of the Everton dressing room after Monday’s 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland international admitted it was “scary” to hear what Frank Lampard had to say after the defeat.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Monday Night Football (7 March), Lampard confessed there were “no positives” to take other than “a couple of performances of credit in terms of people that didn’t give up.”

He admitted there are “issues” among the squad that are “becoming clearer every day”.
Hutton insisted the manager’s comments should come as a “real worry” for the Toffees.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “It’s a real worry if he’s saying only a couple didn’t give up.
“I think it was Jamie Carragher after the game who said they don’t have any kind of runners. They don’t have any sort of fight.
“When people start questioning that, I mean that’s the least you should be giving, 110 per cent. You have to be giving your all.
“When you’re at the bottom of the league and that’s what people are saying about you, you are really struggling. The table doesn’t lie.
“They need a lot more. They need to be showing a lot more week in, week out if they want to get out the mess they’re in.
“I’ve watched them before, I was at the Leeds game and they were unbelievable that night. They are more than capable of putting in good performances.
“The problem with them was they just blew up. They had nothing about them after that. That was the scary thing for me. There didn’t look like there was any sort of fight about them.”

Speaking on Sky, Carragher admitted the “lack of athleticism” among the squad is “frightening”.
The Toffees currently sit 17th in the Premier League table, one point off safety.
