Everton want to keep hold of Jarrad Branthwaite for another season as they look to fight off interest from other clubs this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed Goodison chiefs are trying to convince the centre-back to remain at the club once the transfer window reopens.

The Toffees are keen to ensure that won’t be Branthwaite after O’Rourke admitted they are open to sacrificing other players to ensure the 21-year-old remains on Merseyside.

Branthwaite is under contract at Goodison until 2027 after penning a new deal last October.

Jarrad Branthwaite could stay at Everton despite interest

It’s been a breakout year for Branthwaite in the Premier League after forcing his way into the Everton starting lineup on his return from his fruitful loan spell with PSV Eindhoven.

The centre-back has impressed in his 41 appearances for the Toffees over the past nine months after helping his side secure their top-flight status for another season.

Branthwaite earned his first international call-up in March and was recently named in Gareth Southgate’s training squad ahead of the upcoming European Championships.

Talks are currently ongoing between Everton chiefs and the defender as they look to ensure he remains part of Sean Dyche’s side next season.

The Belgian international could leave Goodison before 30 June to help balance the books after Football Insider revealed the club will accept a £50million bid for his services.
