Everton player ratings v Swansea: Senior defender flops
By Dominic Toner
Football Insider rates the Everton players after their disappointing 1-1 draw against Swansea in Saturday’s Premier League match at Goodison Park.
Maarten Stekelenburg 6 – One good save from a Gylfi Sigurdsson free-kick, was relatively quiet and helpless with the penalty.
Seamus Coleman 8 – Supported the Everton attack well in the second-half and reacted quickest to score a late equalising header.
Phil Jagielka 5 – Conceded a penalty after a clumsy challenge on Sigurdsson, which gave Swansea the lead in the first-half.
Ashley Williams 6 – Average display against his former club and showed off his range of passing.
Leighton Baines 5 – Rusty on his return to the side, was tested by Swansea winger Modou Barrow and struggled to offer attacking support.
James McCarthy 6 – Tried to support the attack when he could, committed some clumsy challenges in midfield.
Idrissa Gueye 7 – Broke up play well in central midfield and allowed Everton to apply the pressure in the second-half.
Yannick Bolasie 5 – The winger missed a one-on-one and a headed chance, and struggled with his delivery despite getting into good positions.
Ross Barkley 7 – Some positive moments of skill and saw plenty of the ball, lacked calmness in front of goal.
Aaron Lennon 6 – Worked hard against the Swansea defence but struggled to find the cutting edge.
Romelu Lukaku 5 – Missed a big chance in the first-half and failed to dominate the Swansea defenders.
