Everton ready Tammy Abraham hijack as offer submitted amid latest on Premier League return

Everton are eyeing up a shock move for Tammy Abraham amid the recent interest from Aston Villa.

The striker has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League so far this month, and the Villans have already been making inroads to try and strike a deal before the 2 February deadline.

Football Insider revealed earlier this week that Roma are happy to accept an offer for Abraham, but there is an additional complication to any potential deal, as Besiktas currently have him on loan with an obligation to buy.

Unai Emery and Co. have been working towards reaching an agreement with all parties of late, but they could now be about to see their efforts thwarted by the Toffees.

Everton and Nottingham Forest eye Tammy Abraham after Aston Villa offer

Former Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness recently told Football Insider that he feels Abraham would be a success back in the Premier League.

The frontman has been away from English football for over four years, but that could be about to change in the coming weeks.

Villa have been pushing to secure a reunion with the 28-year-old of late, and have already submitted an initial offer worth £15.6million, according to Turkish outlet Sabah.

However, the second city outfit are no longer the sole contender for the ex-Chelsea man’s signature, as Everton and Nottingham Forest are both understood to be plotting bids to match that amount.

Besiktas are said to have told Villa that they must pay a fee in excess of £17.3m, or include Evann Guessand as part of a cash plus player deal.

Villa are reluctant to lose Guessand after only signing him in the summer, and they remain in discussions with Besiktas over the fee for Abraham, whose personal preference at the moment is a return to Villa Park.

Aston Villa’s contract offer to Abraham revealed

Aston Villa fans are desperate to see Abraham return, after he previously helped them earn promotion back to the Premier League during a loan spell in 2018-19.

It will not be easy for them to get a deal over the line, given the complications and the recent spike in interest from elsewhere, but Sabah have suggested that the forward is already “favourably considering” the contract offer from his former loan club.

Villa are planning to hand him a four-and-a-half-year deal with an annual salary of £4m, which equates to a weekly wage of around £77,000.

With Everton and Forest both plotting their moves in the background, there is a fresh sense of urgency to Villa’s negotiations, and the fact that Abraham already seems keen on their proposal could be a big factor in deciding where he will end up.
