Everton set to land ‘massive’ Anthony Gordon fee as deal close – pundit
Everton are handing Anthony Gordon a new contract to make sure they receive a “massive” fee when he is sold.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the attacker’s future.
The Telegraph reported on 19 December that Gordon, 21, is now close to committing his future to Goodison Park with a new contract.

His current agreement is set to expire in the summer of 2025.
Gordon has started 11 of the Toffees’ 15 Premier League games this season after establishing himself as a key player during the 2021-22 campaign.
After interest from Tottenham and Chelsea in the summer, McManus claims the Toffees are making sure they secure the biggest fee possible when Gordon is eventually sold.
“He’s had a good few years and now he’s in there and starting every week,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“It doesn’t surprise me that he has been offered a new deal. Everton want to protect themselves. There was interest in the summer.
“Chelsea were really interested but couldn’t get a deal done. Now if he signs this long-term deal then he will be worth a lot more to Everton and they can get a massive fee.
“We have seen this before, it’s clever. Gordon will get a pay rise as well, which has to be deserved after the few years he’s had.
“But with Everton’s financial situation you can understand why they want to bring as much money in as possible.”

Gordon has registered 10 goal contributions in 63 top-flight games for the Toffees.
His side are next in action against Wolves on Boxing Day.
In other news, Everton have agreed a big-money player deal after an offer is accepted.
