‘Everton snub Kyle Walker as Man City star’s rapid fall continues’

Man City ace Kyle Walker has been dealt another major career setback in the wake of a new transfer decision that Everton now look to have made.

The right-back started the 2024/25 season in an excellent position, in the role of captain of Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions.

Things though, quickly went wrong for the England international who came in for some heavy criticism after struggling noticeably as his side floundered in their search for more major silverware.

Ultimately, that led to Walker being allowed to join AC Milan on loan back in the January transfer window, in a move that did not entirely work out.

AC Milan make Kyle Walker decision

During his time in Italy, the right-back found himself in and out of the side amid struggles with form and fitness, as the Rossoneri finished eighth in the Serie A table.

As a result, Milan decided against making Walker’s move permanent at the end of the season, meaning he is now back at Man City for the time being.

That had swiftly led to speculation of a move elsewhere for the 35-year-old this summer, with Everton among those to have been linked with a move for Walker.

Judging by the latest transfer news to have emerged though, such a deal for the Man City man to head to Merseyside now looks unlikely to happen as well.

Consequently, Walker is now facing fresh concerns about exactly where his career might even be able to go from here.

Everton to snub Man City deal for Kenny Tete

Everton are closing in on a new right-back, with Kenny Tete – who is out of contract at Fulham this summer – said to be closing in on a move to the Toffees as their preferred option [BBC].

As a result, that does raise questions for Walker, who now looks to have been snubbed by David Moyes‘ side, who are not the only ones appear to have done.

Recently, Football Insider reported that although his loan in Italy is now over, there is “no way back” for Walker at Man City.

Meanwhile, following his latest below-par performance for England as the Three Lions were beaten by Senegal in a friendly, many feel the right-back should now call time on his international career as well.

It therefore looks as though Walker needs to find a new club this summer if he is to have a chance of kick-starting his career again.

But with Everton having snubbed a move for him, that does seem to indicate the Man City may struggle to find other clubs at the level he wants to play at who are willing to take a chance on him.

If he fails to do that, then it looks as though Walker will spend most of next season – the last of his contract with Guardiola‘s side – out of the picture at the Etihad.

That could then make it for him to get a move elsewhere even on a free transfer next summer, given he will be 36-years-old, and with very little game time under his belt in recent periods.

As a result, having looked to be in such a strong position just 12 months ago, Walker’s career now appears to find itself in a rather perilous situation.
