Everton takeover by The Friedkin Group ‘a done deal’
The Friedkin Group’s takeover of Everton is now said to be a “done deal” by multiple sources, according to sports reporter Paul Brown.
The US-based company have been in talks over purchasing Farhad Moshiri’s 94% controlling stake in the Toffees for some time now.
Last week, it was reported that the Premier League had approved the takeover, leaving only the need for it to be rubber-stamped by the league’s oversight committee to complete the sale (Sky Sports).
Now it seems as though that has been completed, with this latest updates on Wednesday (18 December) suggesting that the takeover of Everton is indeed a “done deal” in the eyes of those close to the process.
It is also been suggested that there has been no opposition to the deal by Leadenhall, involved in a US legal case with Toffees lenders 777 Partners and A-Cap, which had previously been identified as something that could determine how long it would take to complete this.

It appears as though supporters of the Toffees can finally celebrate the news that the club has new ownership at the helm.
This is something that fans of the club have been waiting on for a long time now, and after such drawn out proceedings some may have questioned if it would actually happen.
Now though these updates all point to the suggestion that Everton are owned by the Friedkin Group, given there appears to be little opposition to the deal from elsewhere.
Considering the recent revelations about the financial situation at the club under Moshiri, it does seem as though this has come at a much-needed time for the Toffees.
