Everton tipped to complete Patterson signing after Rangers twist – pundit
Nathan Patterson could provide competition on both flanks for Everton if they sign him from Rangers in January, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 20-year-old “top talent” has been “really impressive” while on international duty with Scotland.
As per the Guardian (21 December) Everton are set to make a third attempt to sign Patterson in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Toffees submitted two bids for the full-back in the summer but a move failed to materialise.
Two of Patterson’s three appearances under Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst have come at left-back.
Whelan hinted this versatility could be another string in the youngster’s bow ahead of a potential Goodison Park switch.
“He’d be a shrewd signing for Everton in January, 100%,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“Obviously we know that Seamus Coleman isn’t getting any younger in that right-back spot. There’s also an opportunity for him on the left with the Lucas Digne situation, he could fill in there.
“He’s played there for Rangers recently. Even though he’s a top talent, it’s bound to be hard to get in the side ahead of the skipper, James Tavernier.
“We’ve seen him really impress for Scotland as well and he’s shown he can be a brilliant attacking talent as well on international duty. From what I know, he’s got a lot of potential.”

Lucas Digne is the only senior left-back at Everton, while Seamus Coleman and Jonjoe Kenny are battling for the right-back berth at present.
Six-cap Scotland international Patterson has started just six games for Rangers this term.
