Everton tipped to secure multiple wins amid training ground claim – pundit

Everton will “fancy themselves” against whoever they play for the rest of the season after beating Man United.

That’s according to former Rangers and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Toffees’ impressive win last weekend.

Everton returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Man United on Saturday (9 April).

This result moved the Toffees four points clear of 18th-placed Burnley with both teams still to play eight games.

McLeish is now backing Everton to go into games with more confidence in the final games of the season.

“Frank Lampard will have been hurting most of all,” McLeish told Football Insider deputy editor Russell Edge.

“I’m sure he’s been working so hard on the training ground to try and organise these guys.

“A lot of crosses were coming in but the box was packed with Everton players.

“There was a lot of tracking back. There was more tracking back from the midfielders, they weren’t giving up.

“Honestly, you have no idea about the confidence levels. Players can really drop low with no confidence.

“But Frank has brought that organisation back and those players will have gone from rock bottom and they will fancy themselves against whoever they play.”

Everton are next in action against Leicester City on Wednesday (20 April).

They then face a trip to Anfield as they look to repeat last season’s derby win against Liverpool.
