‘Everton to attack transfer window as new deal hands David Moyes major war chest’

Everton fans have been given an exciting update ahead of the summer transfer window following the latest news on their new Bramley Moore Dock Stadium via The i.

The Toffees are set to bid farewell to Goodison Park at the end of this season before moving into their new home.

An excellent run of form since David Moyes returned to the club to replace Sean Dyche as manager means they look set to make that move as a Premier League side.

After the Friedkins completed their takeover of Everton back in December, it seems they have big ambitions for the club and have now secured the resources in the transfer market to achieve those.

Everton agree key stadium deal to unlock transfer funds

As per this latest update from The i, the Toffees have now agreed a long-term financing deal for their new stadium, worth around £350million.

That arrangement has been agreed with a number of lenders including American firm JP Morgan, and comes with low interest rates over a length of decades, which is projected to save the club £50million per year.

The funds that Everton are saving are expected to be reinvested directly into the playing squad once the transfer window opens at the end of this season.

It is also understood that these new deals have eased the pressure on the club significantly from a PSR perspective, with previous breaches leading to points deductions and player sales.

However, that threat from PSR is now said to have been “wiped out” and Everton are therefore planning to “attack” the market in the summer as they look to overhaul their playing squad.

Indeed Moyes himself has apparently already begun planning for a summer of recruitment even if his main priority for continues to be ensuring his side are not dragged back into the relegation battle.

Toffees fans will be relishing summer transfer window and beyond

Football Insider Verdict

It has been a hugely challenging period for the club with the financial situation prior to the takeover raising questions not only about their Premier League status, but their existence as a whole.

The arrival of the Friedkins looks to have ended those concerns, but even then Everton did not meet expectations in the January transfer window with the on-loan Charly Alcaraz their only signing.

Now though it appears as though the club has the means and resources to invest more heavily in the window this summer.

Meanwhile, Darren Bent recently suggested Everton will be an attractive club for potential targets in the window, all of which ought to ensure they can put together a strong squad for next season.

All of that ought to then lead to a belief that the Toffees can finally start to climb back up the Premier League table to a position they had been more used to in previous years.
