Everton to go all out for Brooke Norton-Cuffy as contact made for immediate transfer

Everton have been heavily linked with Genoa star Brooke Norton-Cuffy in recent weeks.

The Toffees have been part of a whole host of Premier League clubs that have been targeting a move for the former Arsenal youngster, who has been in Serie A since 2024.

Football Insider recently revealed that Everton view Norton-Cuffy as an ideal long-term solution to their issues at right-back, which have seen both Jake O’Brien and James Garner provide cover there at times this term.

The position has been a priority for David Moyes and Co. throughout the winter window so far, and they have been chasing a move to bring Norton-Cuffy back to England.

Inter Milan contact must spark Everton acceleration for Brooke Norton-Cuffy

Football Insider revealed last week that Newcastle are also in the race for Norton-Cuffy, while interest from elsewhere in Serie A has now come to the table.

Inter Milan have now got their sights set on the 22-year-old, and have already made contact with Genoa regarding the possibility of a deal, according to Italian outlet Tutto Sport.

The San Siro outfit view the starlet as a perfect replacement for Denzel Dumfries, and are prepared to pay Genoa up front in order to secure an immediate deal before Monday’s transfer deadline.

The report suggests that the other clubs that are targeting Norton-Cuffy are instead keen to take him on a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Everton are now in a position where they simply have to go all out to accelerate their interest if they still want to win the race for the full-back.

Not only are they running out of time before the end of the window, but they are now set to be beaten to the front of the queue by Inter, given their ability to offer instant cash to Genoa.

David Moyes already has right-back solution from within

Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness recently told Football Insider that Nathan Patterson could leave Everton amid interest from Sevilla.

That possibility now looks highly unlikely at this late stage of the winter window, and the Scot could represent the solution that Moyes has been looking for at right-back, without the club having to spend a penny.

Patterson has started in Everton’s last two Premier League games, having been out in the cold for several months prior to that, and has played a crucial part in important results against Aston Villa and Leeds.

The 24-year-old appeared to have no future at the Hill Dickinson Stadium just months ago, but if he can continue to prove himself as a reliable option to Moyes, then it could put off any attempts to bring in a new right-back.

The Toffees are keen to preserve their cash for their summer business, and that could see Patterson take on a vital role between now and the end of the campaign.
