Everton to target fresh approach for Harry Wilson after stats show he hits Erling Haaland levels
Everton will surely make a fresh approach for Harry Wilson this summer as the race to sign the Fulham winger hots up.
A whole host of Premier League clubs are targeting a move for the Wales international when he becomes a free agent in the summer, but the Toffees were the only side to actually make a concrete approach for him in January.
David Moyes and Co. saw their efforts to land the 28-year-old swiftly knocked back by Fulham on that occasion, as they had no intention of selling him in the middle of the season.
However, they will be powerless to stand in the way of a move for Wilson in the summer, and Everton will surely be planning a fresh approach already after the wideman hit new heights last weekend.

VISIT THE EVERTON TRANSFER HUBOpta reveal shows Harry Wilson is among Premier League’s best
Football Insider revealed in February that Everton are likely to reignite their interest in Wilson this summer, but there are certainly no shortage of suitors for him at the moment.
Leeds, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace have all been heavily linked with a move for the Fulham star at the end of the season, and that level of interest is unlikely to die down any time soon, given the form that he is in.
Wilson notched another goal and an assist for the Cottagers in their 2-1 victory over Tottenham on Sunday, which has taken his tally of goal involvements to 15 in the league this season.
Remarkably, 11 of those have come since the beginning of December, with only Erling Haaland (14) able to better the Welshman’s tally in that time, according to OptaJoe via their X account.
That level of form will only cause interest in him to spike even further if it continues towards the end of the season, and as a result, Everton should already be plotting another approach as soon as possible.
They should already be trying to engage with Wilson and his entourage to ensure that they are ready to swoop in at the earliest possible opportunity this summer.
Everton hold crucial advantage in Wilson race
If Everton are to win the race to sign Wilson, then they must use the improvements that they have enjoyed as a club this season in order to try and tempt him.
It is not entirely out of the question that the Toffees could yet have European football for next term, but even if they ultimately miss out on that front, their stadium and the progress they have made could be a valuable weapon for them.
They are better placed than all of Leeds, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace to push on and challenge the Premier League’s elite, and they have shown plenty of signs this season to suggest that it could be possible within the next few years.
That will surely grab Wilson’s attention after several years spent in the middle of the table with Fulham, and the opportunity to explore a project with a little more scope for development could tempt him.
