Everton told to accept Chelsea’s ‘insane’ new Anthony Gordon bid after Sky latest – pundit

Everton should accept Chelsea’s potential offer of £60million for Anthony Gordon as it is an “insane” amount of money.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Gordon’s future.

As reported by Sky Sports on Tuesday (23 August), Chelsea are prepared to pay £60million for the Toffees’ forward.

Chelsea have already submitted two bids for Gordon of £40million and £45m, the first of which was revealed by Football Insider on 14 August.

Kenny insists a £60million bid would be “ridiculous” and claims the Toffees should not hesitate to part with their young star.

“It’s a ridiculous amount of money for a player that is potentially going to be unbelievable,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Gordon should be wanting to stay at Everton and play week in week out. Whether he will get in the Chelsea team, I’m not sure he is guaranteed the game time.

“£60million for someone who is just about potential is a ridiculous, insane amount of money. Yeah, if EVertonw ant to sell him and invest it, you could get two or three players into that money.

“This is a player who has now said he wants to leave so get the money and let him go.”

Gordon has three years left on his contract at Goodison Park after signing a five-year deal in 2020.

The Toffees sit 17th in the Premier League after failing to win any of their three opening games of the season.
