Everton told to bite Chelsea’s hand off after latest update on Anthony Gordon bid
Everton should bite Chelsea’s hand off and accept an £85million swap bid for Anthony Gordon, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Gordon will improve but will never be a “world-beater”.
Football Insider revealed on Sunday (28 August) that Chelsea have submitted a new bid to Everton of £25m cash plus Conor Gallagher and Armado Broja in part-exchange for the 21-year-old.

They have already had an initial offer of £40million plus a further £10million in add-ons knocked back as Everton are determined to keep hold of him.
As quoted by the Independent on Saturday (27 August), Frank Lampard insisted he wanted the Liverpool-born ace to stay at Goodison Park.
Asked whether Everton should bite Chelsea’s hand off if they offer £60million for Gordon, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Charlotte Cohen: “I think they should.
“Listen, I like Anthony Gordon but there’s still been not enough assists or goals. His end product isn’t the greatest at the moment.
“He’s still young, don’t get me wrong, and will improve so I can see what Chelsea are thinking.
“But if I’m Everton, you can’t turn that down. It’s huge. You can use that to go and buy a top striker that you need.
“He’s a good player but he’s not a world-beater and never will be.
“He’s a good player but I think he’s got his level.”
Gordon scored his first goal of the season as Everton drew 1-1 with Brentford on Saturday (27 August).
That takes his tally Premier League goal tally to five in 53 appearances for the Toffees.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed that Everton are to “circumvent” Premier League ban as “highly volatile” details emerge.
