Amanda Staveley to get 'seat at the Everton table' in '£150m' update
Everton will be an attractive proposition for Amanda Staveley's investment after failing in a move to join West Ham United.
That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that the former Newcastle United would be open to a minority role at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Staveley was the face of PIF's takeover at St James' Park in October 2021, with the club going on to break an 80-year trophy drought under Eddie Howe.
The 53-year-old is now open to a return to football, only recently failing in a bid to purchase a stake at West Ham United due to Daniel Kretinsky.
She has been tipped for a step up to the Premier League instead, with The Friedkin Group (TFG) searching for new investment after a disappointing transfer window.
The recent news has even sparked fears of the owners wanting to sell entirely, rather focusing on AS Roma, but Staveley is being backed to join instead of replace.
'Everton ticks more boxes for Amanda Staveley than West Ham did'
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson believes that Staveley has every chance of coming aboard at the Hill Dickinson, seeing Everton as a "much better proposition".
"Amanda Staveley and her consortium could. And that's really only on the basis that if they had, let's say, £150m raised to do the West Ham minority..." he explained.
"There's a good chance that they can get themselves a seat at the table at Everton for a not dissimilar amount. Everton tick a lot of the boxes that West Ham did and didn't tick.
"You have to say that right now, Everton is a much better proposition for investment by Amanda Staveley than West Ham is.
"It's all very well saying that the opportunity around West Ham is in the stadium, but there's a huge cost to get to a solution there. And there's huge upside in Everton Stadium as well, and the real estate around there.
"So I would suggest that she must be looking at it if she's serious. It can't just be a case of only wanting West Ham."
How much is Everton valued at?
While the Toffees are not being tipped to secure a full sale on Merseyside, the potential profit from that certainly makes the situation understandable.
Previously speaking to Football Insider, Borson believes the Toffees could be valued as highly as £1billion due to the work that TFG have put in.
TFG have wiped out much of the club's debt, which was always such a major talking point under Farhad Moshiri.
Staveley's money would only help Everton financially, and given her experience behind the scenes at Newcastle, her knowledge would be priceless.
