Amanda Staveley told how much Everton takeover will cost after full sale bombshell
The Friedkin Group (TFG) have opened the door for Amanda Staveley's investment at Everton, but it won't come at a cheap price.
That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that the former Newcastle United co-owner may have to splash eight figures to agree a deal.
David Ornstein broke the news on Friday, 9 October, that TFG are seeking a full sale at the Hill Dickinson Stadium should the right buyer emerge.
The American owners have been in charge for just 22 months, but in that time, they have cleared much of the Toffees' debt and got the team firing on the pitch.
Their lack of investment during the summer window sparked fears of a premature exit, however, and that appears to have come to fruition.
As rumours rumbled on, the idea of Staveley coming aboard as a minority owner emerged, and that has quickly snowballed into the 53-year-old buying Everton Football Club.
Amanda Staveley could buy Everton for '£1bn'
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson does not believe that a full purchase by Staveley can be ruled out, but it would cost upwards of £1billion.
"Everton just now before we started, there was a confirmation that they are for full sale. So there we go, that's in play," he said.
"It'll probably cost £1bn, maybe. It's not an uninteresting opportunity, and she's desperate to get back into the Premier League.
"It's quite similar in some ways to the Newcastle opportunity when she took over. But probably a slightly better platform with the new stadium already done.
"There's the opportunity to improve the infrastructure around the new stadium and the potential investment opportunities that might bring."
What do Everton fans think about Staveley?
The idea of Staveley coming aboard has been met with some positive reactions, it would be fair to say. She did accomplish a lot at St James' Park.
One supporter has even predicted that she will replace David Moyes with Eddie Howe by "this time next year". It's not the most outlandish of predictions either.
