Everton's new owners could immediately sack David Moyes
Everton's prospective new ownership could immediately sack David Moyes at the start of a new era on Merseyside, sources have told Football Insider.
The Friedkin Group put Everton up for sale in early October, less than two years after they took control of the Premier League club.
Reports estimate the asking price or valuation for the club to be between £800million and £1billion, with TFG exploring different avenues after a relatively successful stint as the Toffees' owners.
It is not yet clear if a consortium is set to make an offer anytime soon, with Moyes continuing as normal for now as Everton's players chase European qualification.
Moyes has struggled to ever see eye-to-eye with their current owners, and as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, the Toffees manager may well be let go by their next ownership group as they look to hire their own boss.
Moyes admitted that he was "surprised" at seeing the club being put up for sale, having previously stated that he had not met or even spoken to Dan Friedkin since returning to the club.
David Moyes facing uncertain future as Everton boss amid possible owner change
The Scot is already into the final year of his contract as Everton manager, but is putting his focus towards on-field matters right now.
He could end up leaving the club at the end of his deal if a new ownership group takes control, but also faces the possibility of being sacked instantly as soon as the Friedkin Group potentially depart.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "It's an interesting one. Everything's a bit up in the air at Everton because of the potential change of ownership there. So if new owners come in, maybe they could be looking to bring in their own manager, and that might mean that David Moyes leaves.
"It's not an unfamiliar position for Moyes to be in. He had this before at West Ham when his contract was running out, and talks stalled, then they were reopened."
Moyes is keen on the Celtic job if he is forced out of Everton
Moyes' former colleague, Mick Brown, has exclusively revealed to Football Insider that he would "jump" at the chance to manage Celtic as his managerial career reaches its latter stages.
The 63-year-old was born in Glasgow and began his playing career with the Hoops, making 24 appearances between 1980 and 1983.
Celtic are facing another managerial change at the end of the season, with Martin O'Neill out of contract, while the veteran boss may even be relieved of his duties before then if they struggle this season.
