Richarlison to Everton collapsed after ‘explosive’ development
Everton were rejected by Richarlison due to the wages on offer in another deadline-day deal that collapsed late on, sources have told Football Insider.
The Brazilian striker entered negotiations with the Toffees ahead of English football's summer transfer deadline.
He built a close relationship with their supporters during his memorable spell at the club between 2018 and 2022.
They were unable to make a breakthrough in talks, however, and he has stayed put at Spurs for the time being.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Richarlison's demands were the reason why he did not make a return to Merseyside before the window slammed shut.
He has also failed to join Turkish club Trabzonspor, and could now be consigned to spending several months on the sidelines out of Roberto De Zerbi's squad.
Richarlison's social media rant saw his Everton move break down
The 29-year-old took to Instagram in the midst of talks with Everton to insist that he would not be forced to leave Tottenham, despite his affection for the Merseyside club.
He has now been left out of Spurs' Premier League squad for the campaign, while the Super Lig deadline has passed after he agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor.
Sources have revealed to Football Insider that Richarlison was attracted to Turkey by the lucrative terms on offer, which were more than Everton approached his camp with.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "It does seem like he doesn't have a long-term future at Tottenham. It was evident that they were willing to let him leave before the deadline, potentially back to Everton.
"Then we had that explosive Instagram rant from Richarlison saying that he wasn't going to be forced into moving anywhere and he wasn't happy with the way things were being dealt with by Tottenham.
"The terms on offer put paid to an Everton return. It would be best for all parties if he was to move on."

Tottenham need to improve as soon as possible after a tough start to the new season under De Zerbi.
He was handed a war chest of over £300million in new signings throughout the summer window, and is under pressure to deliver results.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that De Zerbi will not face the sack at Spurs anytime soon even if they struggle for form in the weeks to come.
Their board is backing him to lead the club to glory after handing him a five-year contract in April.
