Everton's chances of completing Djed Spence deal revealed in new update
Tottenham Hotspur right-back Djed Spence "ticks a lot of boxes" for Everton on their summer shopping list, sources have told Football Insider.
The Toffees are in the market for reinforcements in both full-back positions, and the England international's versatility is understood to have caught the attention of David Moyes.
Spurs are in the middle of a significant rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi this summer, but they have little intention of trying to force the 25-year-old out the door.
Sources have indicated that it will be "difficult" for Everton to get a deal over the line for Spence this summer, as he is still under contract in North London until the summer of 2029.
Nevertheless, the Merseysiders are continuing to view him as a potential option, with a new right-back one of their top summer priorities.
Spence made 44 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham last season, and has also become a key figure for his country in recent months.
Tottenham's Djed Spence asking price to test Everton's finances
Football Insider revealed earlier this week that Everton will need to offer at least £40million to even get Spurs to contemplate selling Spence this summer.
The Lilywhites' security over the defender's contract, combined with some impressive World Cup performances, means that his current club are well-placed to command a big fee for him.
The Toffees are eyeing a big summer of their own, but a £40m price tag is expected to make it extremely difficult for them to land Spence.
They have already added Hayden Hackney and Tyrique George to their group on permanent transfers, and are also likely to need a significant fee to get Jack Grealish back.
Moyes and Co. are clear admirers of Spence and the quality that he provides, but they need several cards to fall in their favour if a deal is to become a reality for them.
Tyler Dibling faces loan move to save Everton career
Former Everton scout Bryan King recently told Football Insider that Tyler Dibling may need a loan move to save his career at Everton.
The Toffees shelled out a huge £40m fee to sign the Southampton starlet, but have been rewarded with just 17 appearances and no goal involvements so far.
King believes that Dibling's price may have heaped pressure on the winger, and in turn contributed towards his development stalling.
He emphasised that he needs to prove himself to Moyes in pre-season, or a loan spell away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium may become the only solution for him.
