Every Aston Villa game Boubacar Kamara is expected to miss after new injury update

Boubacar Kamara could miss the next five Aston Villa games after he suffered a knee injury against Tottenham in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Kamara has been one of Villa‘s most important players during their rise under Unai Emery over the last few years.

The France international joined from Marseille in 2022, and he has made 125 appearances for the Villans in the three-and-a-half years since.

Reports last summer claimed that Kamara could look to leave Villa after they failed to qualify for the Champions League, but he chose to stay and signed a bumper five-year contract extension in July.

He has continued to shine under Emery this season, with 26 appearances up to now, but will be out of action for the next few weeks after hobbling off in the early stages of Villa’s 2-1 win over Tottenham.

Kamara could be out for the next three weeks

Kamara had started five of Villa’s previous six games before their trip to Spurs in the cup on Saturday, with wins in all five of those matches and a 4-1 loss to Arsenal in the one he was sidelined for.

Everyone connected to the club was, therefore, understandably concerned when he came off in the ninth minute at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after taking a blow to his leg, specifically around the knee area.

Tottenham midfielder Joao Palhinha had tripped the Frenchman five minutes prior, and while he did try to play on, the pain proved too severe, and he soon went down the tunnel after being replaced by Youri Tielemans.

Emery called for patience in his post-match press conference, after revealing that he was due to be fully checked over on Sunday, and Birmingham Live’s John Townley has now stated that Kamara is facing between two to three weeks out.

Villa’s medical staff are continuing to assess the injury, however, and so a different prognosis may well be reached in the days and weeks to come.

Kamara set to miss Europa League double-header and Newcastle clash

Villa’s strong form has seen them consolidate themselves in the Premier League’s top four, with fifth-placed Brentford currently 10 points behind as it stands.

Emery’s side have won 13 of their last 15 games, and will be aiming to continue such an impressive record as European football returns later this month.

Key man Kamara could be sidelined for the next three weeks, however, and Football Insider have looked at the five games that he may miss with his injury.
