Every game Tino Livramento will miss after Newcastle’s ‘worst fears’ are confirmed in new injury update

Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento is reportedly set to miss around two months of action after scans revealed a significant injury to his hamstring.

Livramento was forced off against Bournemouth in the FA Cup on Saturday, in a game the Magpies would go on to win on penalties.

An action-packed clash saw both teams score three goals at St James’ Park, including a goal each in the final two minutes of extra time.

Livramento has suffered frequent injury issues for Newcastle since his 2023 arrival from Southampton, with this latest issue being his second of the season.

Newcastle are reportedly interested in a move for Wesley this month, with decision-makers attempting to cope with a swath of defensive injuries.

Tino Livramento will miss several crucial matches

Newcastle look to have finally found their groove in recent weeks, but several injuries threaten to knock them back off their stride.

The Magpies are set for key Premier League and Champions League games over the next month, with Livramento set to miss a vital portion of the season.

Firstly, the right-back can be safely ruled out of both Carabao Cup semi-final legs against Manchester City, with the first to take place on Tuesday and the second to go ahead at the start of February.

After that, Livramento will miss an extraordinarily brutal run of eight fixtures. First up will be high-flying Aston Villa at St James’ Park, before a trip to European Champions PSG in mid-week.

Then, Newcastle will go to Anfield to take on the Premier League champions, with the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final following at the Etihad Stadium.

Then comes a game against Brentford, who currently sit fifth in the Premier League and are one point above the Magpies, followed by a trip to take on Tottenham.

Eddie Howe‘s side will round off an excruciating run with another game against Villa – this time in the FA Cup – before yet another trip to take on Man City.

Livramento will then be nearing a return, although he may also miss clashes with Everton and Manchester United in March.

Newcastle planning January action amid injuries

It is not just Livramento facing a spell on the injury table in the Newcastle defence. Dan Burn suffered a broken rib after a big collision in December’s derby defeat to Sunderland, and is expected to be out for a few more weeks.

Fabian Schar was stretchered off against Leeds United last week, and is facing around three months on the sidelines.

Keith Downie reported on Tuesday that Newcastle are considering a move in the transfer market after Livramento’s injury confirmed their “worst fears”.

There is a “decent chance” that the Magpies will bring in a defender, according to the journalist.
