Ex-Celtic man claims Rangers have ‘edge’ in title race thanks to ‘brilliant’ star
Ryan Jack is playing better than he ever has for Rangers and gives the club an edge in the title race.
That’s according to former Celtic hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the midfielder’s return to form.
Jack, 29, has been Rangers’ talisman since returning from a serious calf injury.

He played a key role after starting both legs of the Gers’ aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.
The midfielder has started four of his side’s last five games in all competitions has left McAvennie impressed.
“Ryan Jack seems to be playing his best stuff,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I’ve been saying this for ages, Rangers can beat anyone if he’s turned up.
“By all accounts he was brilliant in Germany against Dortmund and Rangers just look so much better with him in there.
“You look and Glen Kamara can’t get in the team now because of how good that midfield is.
“Jack is the key to all that, he’s brilliant. He doesn’t suffer any fools so no one slacks off when he plays.
“He’s the difference-maker for Rangers, there is hope for Rangers if he’s around.
“The title race is far from over anyway, I know what people are saying.
“Jack does give Rangers an edge but there is a long way to go.”

Jack has made just nine appearances this season due to his injury troubles.
He played the full 90 minutes in Thursday’s (24 February) 2-2 draw with Dortmund.
