Ex-Fifa official: SFA will launch probe as controversial Ralston footage emerges from Celtic
Keith Hackett has claimed the SFA will investigate the celebrations after Anthony Ralston’s winner for Celtic in their 2-1 victory over Ross County on Wednesday (15 December).
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Fifa and Premier League referee insisted the SFA “cannot ignore” the controversial scenes at Victoria Park.
Ralston scored Celtic’s winner deep into injury time after Carl Starfelt’s red card earlier in the game.
He ran straight to the away end while spectators ran onto the pitch to join in the celebrations.
Sky Sports reported yesterday (16 December) Police Scotland are investigating “incidents of disorder” at the game.
“The player should have had a yellow card for that celebration,” Hackett said after analysing the footage with Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“The referee had probably had enough of it and wanted to get off the field!
“When a player does go into the crowd it’s the same scenario, it’s a surge that puts spectators at risk.
“The Scottish FA will look at that, they can’t ignore that.
“The one thing I do have faith in is that in these matters over the years, the Scottish FA are firmer and quicker in dealing with these types of incidents than the English FA.
“They may have got less game but nonetheless, most of their action is supportive of referees whereas down south, I worry about it.”

The result was Celtic’s sixth consecutive victory in the Scottish Premiership.
They go into Sunday’s League Cup final with Hibs on a run of just one defeat in their last 16 games in all competitions.
