Ex-Leeds United star tips Kalvin Phillips to join Man City as showdown talks reported
Kalvin Phillips is good enough to make the move from Leeds United to Man City.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the midfielder’s future.
The Times reported on Monday (23 May) that Man City are considering a bid for the 25-year-old England international after making him their top midfield target for the summer transfer window.

On 24 May, journalist Jonathan Shrager claimed on his Twitter account that the midfielder is set for talks with Andrea Radrizzani.
Kenny claims Phillips can replace Fernandinho, who is set to leave the Etihad this summer.
“Man City are looking to improve again, they won’t slow down,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“People are asking whether Phillips is good enough for Man City. I think he’s a different option.
“We know Pep likes to rotate and he is about to lose a defensive midfielder in Fernandinho.
“So Phillips can come in and do that job, we know he can drop into the defence if he needs to as well.
“He will be a loss to Leeds, that’s for sure. But he will be Man City’s gain.
“I can see him going and becoming a key player there. Leeds will struggle to hold onto him if that offer comes in.”

Phillips struggled with a long-term injury during the 2021-22 campaign, only making 20 league appearances.
He played every minute of the club’s last six games as they survived on the final day.
