Ex-manager makes ‘big’ claim after source delivers Potter-Everton update
Alex McLeish has suggested Brighton manager Graham Potter is destined for a “higher level” club amid interest from Everton.
The former Scotland boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted he is a “big fan” of the 46-year-old after his work on the south coast.
As revealed by Football Insider on Monday (17 January), Everton lined up a move for Potter after sacking Rafael Benitez.

However, a source told this site on Tuesday (18 January) that Potter has told friends there is “no chance” of him quitting Brighton for Goodison Park.
McLeish insisted he was not surprised to hear of Everton’s interest.
He suggested Potter would be on the move at some stage.
McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I’m a big fan. If you didn’t mention him, I would have.
“Potter has done a tremendous job at Brighton. I love watching them. They’re a good side and they play good football.
“Sometimes you’re ruing the fact that don’t have a top striker to finish everything off.
“I mean they have good strikers but you imagine some of the strikers Sir Alex had over the years: Solskjaer, Ven Persie, people like that spearheading that team.
“I think he’s a good manager, I like the way they press high, build up at the back and pass it well. He’s a good manager.
“I think he’ll go to a higher level with a big club with higher expectations than Brighton. Brighton are in a great moment.”

Potter currently has Brighton ninth in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Everton are sitting in 16th.
In other news, there has been a significant update on Everton potentially appointing Wayne Rooney.
