Ex-Uefa official: Jurgen Klopp ‘in trouble’ and may face investigation after Liverpool reveal
Jurgen Klopp is “in trouble” with the FA after suggesting referee decisions cost Liverpool the Premier League title last season, according to Keith Hackett.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Uefa and Premier League referee claimed Klopp’s comments in the German media bordered on “questioning the integrity and competence of the match officials”.
The 55-year-old told German outlet Sport 1 last week (7 September) that “blatant” referee decisions cost his side as they missed out on the title by a single point.

He claimed “without club glasses” that his side received one “lucky” decision while there were numerous clear handball and penalty decisions that went against them.
Potentially the most controversial decision came when Everton were denied a clear penalty for a handball by Rodri as Man City won 1-0 at Goodison Park in February.
“He’s in trouble because that will go straight to the FA,” Hackett told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“You can question a decision forcibly but I think here he is bordering on questioning the integrity and competence of the match officials.
“Therefore, I think, he’s going to have a difficult couple of weeks before they come to a decision.
“The FA will no doubt go through the process of asking him for his observations.”

Liverpool are already five points behind Man City this season and six points off leaders Arsenal.
They did beat Pep Guardiola’s side in the curtain-raising Community Shield game at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium in July.
In other news, Liverpool have been told a “root and branch review” is needed as major Premier League news is confirmed.
