Exclusive: Arsenal ‘prioritise’ goalkeeper signing in new twist
Arsenal will “prioritise” the signing of a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The Gunners are planning multiple deals in the off-season as sporting director Andrea Berta gets started in his new role at the Emirates Stadium.
It is believed Arsenal are keen to add competition and cover for David Raya to their squad as they look to close the gap to major honours next season.
The Spain international has been the undisputed number one shot-stopper for Mikel Arteta this term following Aaron Ramsdale’s move to Southampton last summer (2024).
Arsenal want Raya competition this summer
Neto arrived from Bournemouth on a season-long loan but it is believed he will not be signed permanently this summer.
The Brazillian goalkeeper has made just one appearance for Arsenal – starting in the 2-1 away win over Girona in the Champions League.
Appearances (Starts) | 53 (53) |
Minutes Played | 4800 |
Goals Conceded | 49 |
Clean Sheets | 18 |
Yellow Cards | 4 |
Meanwhile, Raya has made 53 appearances across all competitions this term.
He has conceded 49 goals and kept 18 clean sheets in those outings, keeping him in the fight with Nottingham Forest‘s Matz Sels for the Premier League Golden Glove.
The Spaniard is under contract at Arsenal until June 2028 after joining permanently from Brentford for around £30million.

Arsenal defender wanted in Italy
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (11 May) that Jakub Kiwior is on the radar of both Juventus and Inter Milan as he weighs up his long-term future at Arsenal.
Kiwior has been playing regularly for the Gunners after Gabriel’s injury but will soon return to the bench once the Brazil international returns to fitness.
He joined from Italian side Spezia in January 2023 and has made 66 Arsenal appearances since then.
