Exclusive: Arsenal ready new move for their ‘Harry Kane’
Arsenal are readying a move to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in next summer’s transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Football Insider journalist and Gunners expert Connor Humm revealed that Vlahovic is their number-one target to strengthen up front amid concerns about their goal record.
There is a feeling at the Emirates that Arsenal are prioritising a “Harry Kane sort of player” who will guarantee goals and lead the line in Mikel Arteta’s side.
This is despite the form of their ‘false nine’ Kai Havertz, who has scored four goals and provided one assist in eight Premier League appearances so far this season.
Well-connected former Man United scout Mick Brown previously told Football Insider that the Gunners are planning to sign a new striker to improve the strength of their squad.
Vlahovic turned down a move to the Emirates in 2021, but he has remained high on their list of targets amid a growing feeling that he could now be open to the move.
The striker will have 18 months left on his contract in Turin come January, and a cut-price deal could be on the cards in the 2025 summer window.
Arsenal plotting move to sign Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic
Vlahovic’s potential availability at the end of the season has put the Gunners’ recruitment department on red alert and there is a growing belief that a deal can be done.
Since his move to Juventus in 2022, the striker has found the net 48 times while providing ten assists in 112 appearances.
So far this season, he has found the net seven times in 11 appearances and continues to justify the massive interest in his signature from across Europe.
Arteta’s squad currently lacks an out-and-out goalscorer to lead the line, and Vlahovic is viewed by many within the club as the answer to their issues.
Two consecutive second-place finishes behind Man City have led to assessments of the squad to determine where improvements can be made to get them over the line – with a new striker raised as a potential game-changer.

Meanwhile, concerns have grown around Gabriel Jesus’ effectiveness in front of goal as the 27-year-old has now made 18 league appearances since he last found the net.
He has also yet to score in ten appearances across all competitions so far this season, adding to the burden on Havertz to provide the goals.
