Exclusive: Brad Halliday undergoing Dundee medical after Bradford agree deal

Dundee have agreed a deal to sign Bradford City right-back Brad Halliday, sources have told Football Insider.

The 30-year-old is currently undergoing a medical before putting the finishing touches to joining the Scottish Premiership outfit.

Dundee, where Steven Pressley has been under pressure recently, are now set to make Halliday the second new addition of their window, after they previously signed Joe Bevan from Burnley.

The defender has struggled for football at Bradford so far this season, having started just five games in League One, with all of those having come since the start of December.

Dundee, who are pushing for a top-half finish in the second half of the season, are seventh in the Scottish top tier.

Brad Halliday’s record in the EFL

Football Insider revealed on Monday that Bradford had agreed a deal to sign Joe White on loan from Newcastle, and with that deal now confirmed, there looks set to be imminent movement in the other direction at Valley Parade.

The summer arrival of Josh Neufville from AFC Wimbledon has forced Halliday down the pecking order at the West Yorkshire outfit, and his exit is now firmly in the pipeline.

Halliday has notched over 380 league appearances across an EFL career spanning over 12 years.

The former Middlesbrough academy graduate made his senior debut on loan at York City back in 2014-15, and has since taken in spells with the likes of Cambridge, Doncaster and Fleetwood before joining Bradford in 2022.

He has spent the vast majority of his career playing in League One, but also played a crucial role in the Bantams’ promotion from the basement tier last term, as he notched two goals and three assists from the backline.

Bradford City set to add a new striker to their ranks

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday that Bradford have agreed a deal to sign Ethan Wheatley on loan from Manchester United, after the striker was recalled from his previous loan spell with Northampton.

The 19-year-old was only recalled by his parent club on Monday, but Graham Alexander’s side moved quickly to offer him the prospect of a move higher up in the third-tier table.

Wheatley managed three goals and one assist for Northampton across 22 league games so far this season, and his imminent arrival will serve as a welcome addition for Bradford after Andy Cook’s recent exit to Grimsby.

The Bantams have got a potential return to the Championship in their sights for the second half of the season, and they clearly want to strengthen their hand as much as possible before the end of the window.
