Southampton, Brighton and Burnley are weighing up moves for Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe, Football Insider sources understands.
Roofe has enjoyed a flying start to the season with Leeds, scoring four goals and providing two assists in six Championship games before suffering an injury which has sidelined him for the last month.
The 25-year-old’s form has alerted several Premier League clubs and Southampton, Brighton and Burnley are all keeping tabs on Roofe and in the hunt to sign him as they look to add to their attacking options.
Leeds are aware of the growing interest in Roofe and, as revealed by Football Insider earlier this week, they are to open initial talks over tying down their star man to a new long-term deal to fend off any potential suitors.
The former West Bromwich Albion and Oxford man has less than two years to run on his current deal and Southampton, Brighton and Burnley are monitoring Roofe’s contract talks as they wait in the wings ready to make a move for the attacker.
Roofe is regarded as one of the most exciting forwards outside the Premier League having impressed at Leeds since his arrival from Oxford United in 2016.
His game has gone to a whole new level under new manager Marcelo Bielsa and he was named the Championship player of the month for August.
In other Leeds United news, it can be revealed that the club are working on a deal to sign a midfield goal machine with six goals in seven matches and it could be done before January.
