Celtic are ready to offer Anthony Ralston and other rising stars to Motherwell as part of the £3million deal to sign David Turnbull to Parkhead, Football Insider understands.

A Celtic source has told Football Insider that a fee has already been agreed between the two Scottish clubs but a Hoops youngster could go the other way to sweeten the deal.

Motherwell would be keen to take some of Celtic's fringe players on loan and right-back Ralston is thought to be among the options for Motherwell.

The 20-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular place in the Celtic side after breaking into the first-team picture three seasons ago, making just five appearances last term.

Scotland Under-21 international Ralston found himself down the pecking order with the likes of Mikael Lustig, Jeremy Toljan and Cristian Gamboa all ahead of him for the right-back spot.

Toljan and Gamboa have left Celtic already this summer, and they are set to be followed by the exit door by Mikael Lustig.

Celtic would consider loaning out Ralston if they feel they have enough cover at right-back next season and Motherwell could offer him the opportunity to get valuable first-team experience under his belt.
