Exclusive: Charlton Athletic, Millwall and Preston make moves to sign Mathias Ross
Charlton Athletic, Millwall and Preston North End have made approaches for Mathias Ross following his Galatasaray exit, sources have told Football Insider.
The central defender, 24, is available as a free agent after cancelling his contract at the Turkish giants a year early by mutual consent.
Championship trio Millwall, Preston and Charlton have all expressed an interest in bringing Ross to England.
The Dane, who joined Galatasaray from Aalborg BK in the summer of 2022, struggled to break into the Turkish side and has spent the last two seasons out on loan at NEC Nijmegen and Sparta Prague.
Championship clubs eye Ross to bolster ranks after he quits Galatasaray
Ross only started six league games for Sparta Prague last season during his loan spell, as the Czech Republic outfit finished fourth in the top division.
The defender also started one Champions League game, playing the full 90 minutes as Sparta fell to a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich.
Now, the Denmark Under-21 international is a target for three Championship clubs, who all want to bolster their defensive ranks.
Last season Millwall narrowly missed out on the playoffs, finishing eighth, while Preston avoided relegation on the final day.
As for Charlton, they are preparing for their first campaign back in the second tier, after beating Leyton Orient in the League One playoff final back in May.

Millwall receive Parma approach for Ivanovic
Meanwhile, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Parma have made an approach for Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanović.
The 20-year-old scored 13 goals over 40 appearances in all competitions last season after a £2.8million move from Serbian side Vojvodina, and that form has attracted attention across Europe.
Parma are in the market for a new striker, having sold Ange-Yoan Bonny to Serie A rivals Inter, and they see the Millwall man as a potential replacement to bolster their attacking unit.
As exclusively revealed by Football Insider, Everton and Wolves are also interested in Ivanovic, with the Premier League duo keen to bolster their respective attacking ranks.
