Exclusive: Chelsea make Nicolas Jackson transfer decision after new controversy
Nicolas Jackson remains a key man in Chelsea’s plans despite his recent disciplinary issues, sources have told Football Insider.
The 24-year-old was sent off for the second time in four games as the Blues suffered a 3-1 defeat against Flamengo in the Club World Cup last week (20 June).
Jackson said post-match: “I want to say sorry. To the club, the staff, my team-mates, and all the fans watching, I let you down… I’m so angry at myself.”
New Chelsea signing Liam Delap has now been given the chance to stake his claim for a starting berth while the Senegal international serves a suspension.
Maresca still counting on Jackson at Chelsea
However, sources say Jackson remains part of the plans for Enzo Maresca and and is still a key man for the Blues in what will be a busy 2025-26 campaign.
Chelsea will return to the expanded Champions League next season and is still expected to scrap Delap to lead the line for the Stamford Bridge club.

The club are aware Jackson would attract big interest from across Europe if he was made available for transfer in this summer transfer window.
He scored 13 goals and notched six assists for Chelsea across 36 appearances in all competitions last term.
The former Villarreal striker is under contract with the Blues until June 2033 after signing a massive extension last year (2024).

Chelsea will accept offers for two first-teamers
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed earlier this month (10 June) that Chelsea will accept offers for first-team duo Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi this summer.
Trevoh Chalobah is attracting interest from Napoli and Premier League clubs, but Football Insider has revealed (10 June) he is not at the top of Chelsea’s unwanted list.
Maresca and his transfer team will instead look to move French duo Badiashile, 24, and Disasi, 27, on before the 2025-26 campaign gets underway.
