Exclusive: Crystal Palace plan Thomas Frank move after Tottenham sack news
Crystal Palace are planning to offer Thomas Frank the chance to be their new manager in the summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Oliver Glasner officially confirmed his decision to leave Palace upon the expiry of his contract in an explosive press conference ahead of their 2-1 defeat against Sunderland.
Following that game, the boss launched into a scathing attack on the club’s hierarchy, although they have since decided against sacking him early.
Sources say Frank is seen as the perfect fit at Selhurst Park thanks to his impressive record at Brentford, where he was working on a similar budget to the Eagles.
The Tottenham boss has endured a miserable six months in North London, but remains very highly rated and his appointment would be seen as a coup for Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace to swoop after Tottenham sack Thomas Frank
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 18 January that Tottenham are accelerating plans to sack Frank following their 2-1 defeat to West Ham on Saturday.
Crystal Palace see Frank as the leading candidate for the job despite assessing a number of options, largely thanks to his success with Brentford.
Glasner has grown frustrated with Palace’s sell-to-buy model which has seen the likes of Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi sold in the last six months alone.
However, Frank worked under similar conditions at Brentford where he oversaw the departures of the likes of Ivan Toney and David Raya with little negative impact.
He would also represent a smoother transition as he prefers a counter-attacking style of play, rather than attempting to implement a whole new tactical vision.
Crystal Palace target Oliver Glasner replacements
Frank is not the only manager on the Eagle’s shortlist, though, as they have already begun their search for Glasner’s replacement after being made aware of his decision to leave.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 19 December that Crystal Palace are preparing for the worst with regard to Glasner’s future.

Getafe manager Jose Bordalas is on Palace’s radar, while they have also considered Raya Vallecano’s Inigo Perez among a number of potential targets.
Meanwhile, Gareth Southgate has been tipped for the Palace job thanks to his connections with the club where he came through as an academy product.
Work towards identifying their next permanent boss is well underway, but they are also keen to capitalise on situations including Frank’s departure.
